Three of the star heroines who have ruled the roost for more than half-a-decade, if not more, are out to re-invent themselves. Though not to the same degree, Tamannah, Samantha and Kajal Aggarwal are eager to bring out a new actress in them.

While Tamannah seems to be striking the right balance between "commercial" and "not-so-commercial" roles post 'Baahubali', Samantha has suggested that she will do much the same in the coming years. Her signing up for a role in Nag Ashwin's biopic on Mahanati Savithri is a case in point. Her attempt to produce remake versions of the Kannada hit 'U-Turn', on the other hand, proves that she wants to wear more than one hat post marriage.

The latest one to be wanting to walk on the same path is the effervescent Kajal Aggarwal. The 30-something actress played a blind girl's role in 'Do Lafzon Ki Kahani', the 2016 Bollywood release. It's another matter that the movie flopped. In an interaction with fans on Twitter, the wide-eyed beauty has said that she wants to play an antagonist's role! It's another matter that people might not like the baby-faced diva to play such a role.

With so many new-age directors coming, and the South keen on remakes/adaptations (like 'Queen'), the longevity of actresses has only increased in the new decade because age doesn't matter when they are essaying performance-oriented roles. And the likes of Anushka, Amala Paul and the aforementioned heroines could well reign supreme in this scenario.
