There have been several reports stating that director Kamal approached Tabu for the lead role in the upcoming biopic Aami, based on the life of writer Kamala Das aka Kamala Surayya. But now, the director has come out correcting the news. He brushed off the rumours and confrimed that he had never approached the actress for Aami.
Director Kamal also added that he is not in a hurry to find a leading lady for the movie, as his only aim is to depict the biopic on the silver screen with complete perfection. Kamal had previously helmed a biopic on the first Malayali filmmaker J C Daniel with Prithviraj in the lead.
Aami was initially planned with Vidya Balan in the titular role, but just days few before the start of shooting in December, the actress backed out of the project.
