Memu is the dubbed version of Pasanga-2, the Tamil film directed by Pandiraj. The predominantly children's film stars Suriya, Amala Paul, Ramdoss, Vidya Pradeep, Karthik Kumar, and Bindu Madhavi. The film will hit the screens on July 8 (it has been shifted from July 1, a day on which Rojulu Marayi, Dora and Ardhanari will hit the screens). To be jointly presented by Studio Green Gnanavel Raja and Suriya's own 2D Entertainment, the film is produced by Madhusudhan Reddy.

The producer says, "This is a film every parent should watch with his/her kid. The Tamil version was praised unanimously by both the Tamil and English-language media. We are planning to release the movie in as many theatres as possible on July 8."

The film has an interesting plotline. Two kids, a girl and a boy, behave abnormally and give their parents a headache. They end up being moved from one school to another. One fine day, they end up in the hands of a psychiatrist couple, played by Suriya and Amala Paul, who find their 'taare' on the 'zameen'. Arrol Corelli is the music director. Cinematography is by Balasubramaniem. Dialogues and lyrics are by Sashank Vennelakanti.
