Chief Minister O.Panneer Selvam started his revolt against the ADMK Party General Secretary V.K.Sasikala's ambition to replace him as the Chief Minister as a single man on Tuesday (February 7). Today he seems to be claiming the support of as many as 39 MLAs.

Today morning, Mafoi.K.Pandiyarajan the Minister of School Education and Youth Welfare announced his support to OPS. With his inclusion the count of the party MLAs offering support to OPS to continue as CM rose to seven.
Though OPS has the backing of former MLAs, MPs and senior members of the party like P.H.Pandian and E.Madhusudhanan. it is the support of MLAs that is crucial to prove his majority and stake claim to head the government.
Over 125 MLAs supporting Sasikala have been staying in a resort in the ECR. Sasikala has just went to meet them and the entire group is expected go an meet the Governor to stake claim to form the government.
A reliable source reveal that as of now 39 MLAs have switched over to OPS camp from Sasikala's. If this is true, Sasikala would have lost the majority of 118 MLAs support which is required to form the Government. In that case the Governor will have to call for a floor test in the Tamil Nadu State Assembly to prove who has majority of MLAs support.
We will have to wait for official announcement.
