Balakrishna's 100th film was launched today in the presence of KCR, the hon'ble CM of Telangana. The first shot was given clap by KCR and Megastar Chiranjeevi switched on the camera. Victory Venkatesh operated the camera and Dasari Narayana Rao directed the first shot.

K Chandrasekhar Rao, the hon'ble CM of Telangana, said, "It's a great choice by Balakrishna to choose a subject like this for his 100th film. It's not an ordinary thing to do a film like this. It's the legend of a great king who heralded an era. It's happy to note that a film that will be remembered forever by the Telugu people, is being made. He further said, "Since I am a bit elder to Balakrishna in age, I am blessing him today. I am confident that his 100th film will have a 200-days run. When Telugu people were called as Madrasi, it was NT Rama Rao garu who glorified Andhra Pradesh. In his inimitable style, KCR said, "When the statue of Ambedkar was sought to be installed in Hyderabad, some people raked up a controversy. I am assuring that the NTR Ghat will be there forever. NTR was not a one-generation actor. In the two States, there would be none who doesn't know him."

Megastar Chiranjeevi said, "Selecting this subject of Gautamiputra Satakarni is the first victory. This film will stand as a great one in Balakrishna's career. Krish means victory is assured. I think he is the most apt director. I think Balakrishna will shine in this role effortlessly. At a time when it's very difficult for a movie to cross 100 days, I wish that this film will celebrate Golden Jubilee."

Victory Venkatesh said that he wished that the film will cross 200 days in 1000 theatres.

Dasari Narayana Rao said, "It's a matter of pride that Balakrishna is doing as his 100th film the story of the first Telugu emperor. This is the story of a king who conquered 33 kingdoms. Ugadi was begun during his reign. It's a matter of pride for the Telugus that this thought was conceived."

Balakrishna said, "I heard many stories to do my 10tth film. Although I liked some of them, they were not apt to be made into my 100th film. Striving to make new stuff, Nanna garu tried a variety of roles. Even I persevere to follow in my father's foot steps. I okayed this script because Krish came up with a story that is worthy to be made into my 100th film. Not many know about Gautamiputra Satakarni's legend. Born in Koti Lingalu of today's Telangana, he spread his kingdom with Amaravathi as the capital. The greatness of such a king should be projected not only in India but also internationally. A few writers are writing the script after doing thorough research about his life and times. It's because of my parents' punya that I have acted in several 100-day films. I am dedicating this movie to my fans and the mothers of India. He who has no ambition, carries no value. He who has no anger, is not a human being at all. That's what I believe in. By reading history, I got to learn that Satakarni's life, too, was that. He who loves all and goes ahead without caring for others is a dictator."
