In June last, asked as to when 'Vishwaroopam-2' was coming, Kamal Haasan said he didn't know why it was being delayed. He suggested that the ball was in producer Aascar Ravichandran's court. The last time we heard about the film was when a high-end underwater sequence was shot on Kamal and others in October last. The film has since been in post-production stage.

Finally, the Universal Star himself has opened up about the movie that his fans have been waiting for for the last 4 years. "For all those looking forward to VR2. Am personally getting in to clear the path. Bigger obstacles are out of the way. What is left is technical and legal. But bear with my team and me. Post-production will take 6 months," he has tweeted.

It's instructive that post-production works are taking a long time. This suggests that 'Vishwaroopam-2' will be at a much higher end, technically, than the first edition, which hit the screens in January, 2013.
