Shakeela with her soft porn films ruled Mollywood in the nineties and her popularity grew to such a level that the collections of Mammootty and Mohanlal films released at the time suffered. After moving to Chennai from Kerala the actress started appearing in character roles and enjoyed some success in films like Boss Engira Bhaskaran`.
Shakeela has written her autobiography, which sources believe is a tell all documentation of her life and popular Kannada director Indrajith Lankesh is going to make a film based on the book. The team has reportedly met Bollywood hottie Huma Qureshi of Gangs of Waseypur and Highway` who has shown interest in the role. The film according to the director is planned to be made in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
