The first annual meeting of People for Cattle in India (PFCI) was held at a hotel in Chennai with TN Governor Dr. R.K. Rosaiah, presiding over as the chief guest. At the event both Vishal and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar received awards for their contribution to the cause of animals.

Vishal received the Face of Animal Activism 2015 award for his constant voicing of support and agitation for animals and his best buddy Varu was awarded the Best Celebrity Campaigner 2015 for leading the Waterbowl Challenge which inspired thousands to provide water for animals and birds during the scorching summertime.
