Just as Pawan Kalyan had to break the jinx by delivering a hit in Hindi with his debut Hindi film Sardaar Gabbar Singh (Pratibandh and Zanjeer, starring Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, respectively, and both featuring the Mega heroes in cop roles, flopped), Mahesh Babu too now faces a similar challenge.

It's the May jinx. In Mahesh's career, only two films have released in the month of May (the two other summer releases hit the marquee in April). Both the films flopped. They are Nijam (2003) and Nani (2004). Brahmotsavam was to hit the marquee in April, which is a lucky month for Mahesh. Yuvaraju and Pokiri had released in April and while the former was an average grosser, the latter was a blockbuster.

With Brahmotsavam releasing finally today, Mahesh's fans are wondering if the film will finally prove the hitherto established sentiment wrong. This Srikanth Addala directorial has been getting a mixed response since morning. Touted to be a family entertainer, the film might work well with those sections of audiences who like soft-core films. Since there are no big releases this month, PVP Cinema might just get lucky in terms of BO run.

On the other hand, Prasad V Potluri, who has delivered Kshanam and Oopiri successively, has to deliver his hat-trick hit.
