Ajay Devgan`s name is now discussed in Bollywood as the one who would be doing the role done by Mohanlal in Oppam. As soon as Priyadarshan announced his intention to remake Oppam` in Hindi, people started guessing different names for the role. Film Magazines and Online entertainment portals had started its assumptions and even hinted some names.

Priyadarshan was tight lipped about it. When guesses started pouring in, he opened up his mind about it and said that he would start shooting it in August 2017, but no cast is finalized until now. When asked about Ajay Devgan Priyadarshan said that Ajay, Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham had attended the special screening of the movie, but none of them is finalized and he requires some more time to decide on it. Let us wait till the director decides on it, maybe in one or two months we may be able to know the answer.
