Forget about the over-the-top promposal for 2017.
Tyler Chitwood took it back to basics when asking Adriana Fernandez to the upcoming dance at Cuthbertson High School in Waxhaw, North Carolina ― and won the hearts of thousands of social media users in the process.
Keeping it wonderfully simple, the senior tied balloons ― just like the ones that whisked away Carl Fredricksen’s house in the 2009 movie “Up” ― to a keyboard. He followed that up by playing the film’s main theme when his date-to-be arrived outside her friend’s garage.
Luckily, she said yes, and video of the heartwarming moment went viral after Chitwood posted it online.
“I knew that prom was coming up in a few weeks so i had to act fast,” he told The Huffington Post via Twitter on Monday. “One night, my date and I were watching the movie ‘Up’ and she kept telling me how much she LOVED the song. I ended up already knowing how to play it on piano so I was like, ‘hey! This is perfect!’”
The video has moved many fellow Twitter users to tears, with Chitwood saying that the two 17-years-olds are now “insanely excited for prom” on April 22.
