A rookie cop’s heroic actions helped avert a potential tragedy in Glenn Heights, Texas, on Saturday night.

When police officer Chris Womack arrived to deal with a Ford pickup truck in flames at a Jack in the Box drive-thru, he calmly drove his cruiser straight up to the vehicle and rammed it away from the building.

Thanks to Womack’s selfless conduct, the fire didn’t spread to the restaurant itself ― and subsequently no one inside or outside was injured.

My adrenaline was going a little bit,” Womack, a first-year officer, told FOX4News.com. “It was just a God-send that I was here at that particular time.”

On Tuesday, Glenn Heights Police Department shared dashcam footage of the incident, which was recorded from Womack’s cruiser, on Facebook.

I would like to commend Officer Chris Womack,” wrote the department. “Due to his courage and quick thinking, he was able to prevent a burning vehicle from causing major damage to the Jack in the Box and protecting the employees.”

The cause of the blaze remains unknown, reports local TV station NBC DFW.
