McDonald's Regular Gets Free Meals For Life On 100th Birthday

Who knew that Mickey D's could be the secret to longevity?

We never thought that Mickey D’s would be the secret to longevity, but eating at the hamburger chain seems to be working out well for centenarian Nadine Baum. Baum is a “regular” at her local McDonald’s in Hanover, Penn. and has been having lunch there with her son, Mike, for the past five years, staff say.

On Oct. 13, Nadine thought she was going in for the usual lunch with her son when she was surprised with flowers, balloons and a “Happy Birthday” serenade from staff to celebrate her 100th birthday.

“I just can’t get over this,” Baum told The Evening Sun. “This is so wonderful.”

Sitting at her favorite table, Nadine enjoyed a Big Mac and a mocha frappe along with cake the staff had brought for her. The local crew have become close to the mother and son, with one employee saying she calls Nadine “Mom.”

Lately, however, Nadine has had to cut back on her visits to the restaurant due to arthritis, meaning the staff wanted to made sure they made her milestone birthday extra special.

And so to celebrate her 100th, they had quite the gift for Nadine. She was presented with a certificate for free meals for the rest of her life. They couldn’t have gotten her a better gift.

“I said that I’m going to go in three times a day, every day,” she told ABC News.

Other centenarians have credited other seemingly unhealthy vices like beer and bacon for their long lives, so whatever floats your boat, Nadine!

Here’s to many, many more birthdays and many free meals under the golden arches!
