Fox Affiliate Sorry For Showing Photo Of Man's Penis During Helicopter Crash Coverage

Fox Affiliate: Sorry We Broadcast A D**k Pic

Fox31 Denver has issued a formal apology for accidentally broadcasting a photo of a man's penis amid coverage of Tuesday's helicopter crash in Seattle.

The X-rated picture inadvertently appeared on viewers' screens during the morning news program "Good Day Colorado." The station was trying to broadcast photos of the scene in Seattle via a Twitter feed.

Instead of images of the Seattle crash, Fox31 treated its TV audience to an odd range of photos, including a picture of Edward Scissorhands, a picture of what appears to be an omelette and, yes, a photo of a man's penis.

"The photo was mistakenly broadcast by our control room," Fox31 explained in a statement. "It did not come from the tablet many viewers saw being used by one of our anchors."

"We apologize for the inadvertent broadcast of the image and we are taking immediate steps to prevent such an accident from happening again," the station said.

As documented on Twitter by @SladeHV, the anchors initially reacted to the flap with outright horror. However, they quickly returned to their professional selves and continued with the broadcast as though nothing had happened.

In a statement to the Denver Post, Fox31 news director Ed Kosowski declined to discuss how the station might address the gaffe with its employees, calling it "a personnel matter."
