Airtel TV app gets new UI, Time shift feature for Live TV; free for all customers till June 2018

To take on Reliance Jio’s Jio TV app, Airtel has updated its Airtel TV app that offers Live TV channels as well as Regional & International content from Eros Now, SonyLIV and HOOQ. It has also announced that the entire content catalogue of Airtel TV will be available for its Postpaid and Prepaid users on a free subscription basis till June 2018.

New UI allows customers to search for the content with smart search filters across languages, genres, rating and content partners. Airtel recently added over 150 new Live TV channels, taking the Live TV channel count to 300 that includes 29 HD channels across GEC, Movies, News and Infotainment genres such as Zee, Sony, NDTV, Gemini, Sun TV and others.

It now offers content in 15 languages – English, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Odia, French and Urdu.

New Time Shift feature for Live TV allows users to scroll back Live feeds and catch their favourite telecast. It also allows users to check what’s available on other channels or search for more programmes, without pausing what they are watching. You can also catch-up on content aired over the past seven days for select shows. You can download the Airtel TV app here.

Commenting on the launch, Sameer Barta, CEO – Wynk said:

We are thrilled to introduce the latest version of Airtel TV with great content and an improved, intuitive User Interface. The improvements to the app are a result of constantly listening to our customers and taking their feedback to the design table. We believe that we have built an app for India’s needs and backed it with a large and exciting content catalogue to serve the fastest growing screen – the smartphone.
