The world celebrated International Yoga Day, recently.

Times Square had thousands, move to a core Indian technique to attain fitness and some spirituality (while at it). Lord Shiva, according to the legend, is credited with the practice of Hathavidya, also known as Hatt Yoga. Hatt Yoga, is rigorous, if practiced for long, but that doesn’t keep devotees from doing an asana for years at once.

Legend says that the practice was only spoken about, to, Goddess Parvati. However, a fish (Matsya) was witness to the tale. An art form, a ritual or as yoga, it was then passed on via disciples to many generations and people to come.

While at the Simhast Ujjain Mahaparv, we came across a baba who’d not lowered his hand since 12 years.

Sadhu Amar Bharati, hasn’t lower his limb, the right hand since 1973. That makes it a full 43 years of Hatt Yoga. Hands Up Baba, the latest from Firstpost’s original Documentary Web Series, Colours Of Kumbh, focuses on the story of staunchness and dedication.

It also shows us, how a disciple, exists in the same congregation, Kumbh and touches upon his realities with the understanding of Hatt Yoga.
