Afghanistan election audit disrupted as candidate threatens to walk out

Kabul: Afghan presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah withdrew observers from a UN-supervised audit of votes on Wednesday, a western official said, after threatening to pull out of a deadlock over the election outcome. “It is supposed to start without Abdullah’s supporters,” the official said, referring to the audit of votes that is meant to end the impasse over the election.
