Kim Dotcom, a German-Finnish internet entrepreneur, known for following his own beat, tweeted that some of his seized funds had been released and that his wife and children can move to Queenstown, New Zealand away from the shadow of ‘spies’. He also mentioned that he would receive ‘‘4 containers full of seized property back.’’
However, he did not specify the nature of the assets that would be returned to him. The internet entreprenuer would be moving from Auckland to the South Australia. Dotcom has been fighting a copyright case since 2005. Allegations posed on Megaupload include copyright infringement, wire fraud, money laundering, racketeering, amongst others.
Moreover, he has also faced a civil forfeiture , where the assets seized were multiple cars, jet skies, the Dotcom mansion, several luxury cars, and watches amongst others.

In fact recently, the New Zealand court had also agreed that Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) was illegally spying on Kim Dotcom. He had sought compensation for all the damages that were made due to infringement.
