Huawei launches Mate 10 Pro, 10 and 10 Porsche Design with Kirin 970, 4,000 mAh battery and more

Chinese smartphone and electronics maker Huawei has launched its latest Mate series at the launch event in Munich.

The company unveiled three smartphones as part of the latest Mate series. The lineup comprised of Huawei Mate 10, Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design. The company has priced Mate 10 at €699 which amounts to about $825 while Mate 10 Pro will be priced at €799, amounting about $945. Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design will come at a premium price of €1,395.

All three smartphones pack an Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 clocked at up to 2.36 GHz along with 12-core Mali-G72 GPU to handle any graphics-intensive tasks. Mate 10 sports a 5.9-inch 3D 2K Huawei FullView LCD display panel with 2560x1440 resolution, 499 PPI pixel density and 16:9 ratio. The company has packed 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM along with 64 GB UFS 2.1 internal storage.

The device packs 20 MP Monochrome and 12 MP sensors with BSI CMOS setup and f/1.6 aperture. Huawei has added a 4-in-1 focusing system that relies on Phase detection, Laser, Contrast and Depth detection sensors. The camera packs colour sensor packs OIS along with dual-tone LED flash, 2x Hybrid zoom and 4K video recording. The company has also added an 8 MP camera sensor on the from with f/2.0 aperture.

Huawei has added connectivity options like 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2 with LE, NFC,GPS, 4.5G enabled Dual-SIM slot, Type-C USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options. It will run Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box and will be powered by a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with Huawei SuperCharge technology. The company has packed the fingerprint sensor on the front of the device with the Mate 10.

Moving to Mate 10 Pro , the device will pack a 6.0-inch Huawei FullView OLED display panel with 2160x1080 resolution, 402 PPI pixel density and 18:9 ratio. 10 Pro will be available in two variants with the first one packing 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB internal storage while the second variant will pack 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Both the devices will sport a MicroSD card slot to expand the storage. One thing to note here is that the device will come with an IP67 rating to signify its dust and water resistance.

Huawei has moved the fingerprint sensor towards the back in this device. Mate 10 Porsche Design will sport similar specifications to the Mate 10 Pro with one exception. the device will only come in one variant where it packs 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256 GB internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card.

The company pointed that Mate 10 will be available starting late October in China, Egypt, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Singapore, Spain, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. Mate 10 Pro will be available in about two dozen countries starting mid-November. Last but not the least, Mate 10 Porsche Design will be available from mid-November in South Africa, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Italy, Switzerland, Egypt, China, France, and Germany.
