Amazon has launched a bevy of Echo products and in addition to them, an upgrade to the humble Fire TV. The new Amazon Fire TV supports 4K HDR at 60 fps along with Dolby Atmos sound. On the inside, you have an Amlogic 1.5 GHz quad-core processor along with Mali450 MP3 GPU and it houses an 802.11 ac Wi-Fi chipset. The bundled remote control is compliant with Alexa Voice support and lets you search using voice commands. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The box measures 65 x 65 x 15 mm and weighs around 87 grams.

Since it is in the dongle form factor, you just plug in the Fire TV to the HDMI port of your TV and it’s left hanging, out of view.

The Fire TV with 4K HDR support comes quite close to the launch of the Apple TV 4K, which is priced almost $100 above the Fire TV with 4K HDR at $179.
