Cricket fans in India have feverishly been looking forward to today, when India takes on Sri Lanka in the ICC World T20 championship final, with the big question being whether they will be able to win their second World T20 title.
And now cricket fever seems to have gripped Twitter too. If you log in to the micro-blogging site, a small box appears at the top of the screen urging fans to wish India luck with the hashtag #IndiavSL. Fans can click the button to type out their cheer for Team India.
This is similar to the Twitter initiative during the buzz around Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement when they were asking people to tweet using the hashtag, #ThankyouSachin.
Unsurprisingly as the match draws closer, the hashtag is picking up and it is steadily moving up the list of India’s trending topics.
