In their second innings, the West Indies were 28 for no loss and with just a day’s play remaining on the morrow, a draw appears the most likely outcome.

The two overnight not out batsmen, Vasudevan Jagadeesh (86, 198b, 8x4) and Abhishek Nayar (89, 88b, 9x4, 2x6) stretched their fourth wicket partnership to 99 before getting separated.

Jagadeesh became the first of seamer Miguel Cummins’ three victims. Nayar was dismissed not long after as he was trapped in front by left-arm spinner Nikita Miller.

Thereafter, Kaul held fort to guide India to relative safety with the experienced Mohd Kaif chipping in with 26.

Brief scores: West Indies ‘A’ 406 all out and 28 for no loss in 14 overs vs India ‘A’ (1st innings) 359 all out in 131.1 overs (Vasudevan Jagadeesh 86, Cheteshwar Pujara 25, Abhishek Nayar 89, Mohd Kaif 26, Uday Kaul 64, Veerasammy Permaul 2 for 88, Miguel Cummins 3 for 58, Nikita Miller 2 for 90, Assad Fudadin 2 for 23).
