What happens when two Englishmen teach cricket to a Spanish goalkeeper and a Brazilian defender? Pure madness of course.

Arsenal’s English stars Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain teamed up with cricketers Ravi Bopara and Ryan ten Doeschate to give a taste of their culture to David Ospina and Gabriel Paulista — and boy it made for some laughs.

For one, Gabriel looked completely bemused when taught how to bowl and is a chucker of the highest category — hitting the stumps with accurate throws after half an action and celebrating despite Oxlade’s calls of no-ball.

Then came Ospina, who initially broke into a jig while learning how to bowl and then sending a series of beamers miles above the stumps, leaving the equally bad Gabriel in fits of laughter on the sidelines. Ospina, in his goalkeeper’s kit, also took a tumble that looked more out of a dizzy football challenge than good ol’ bowling.

By the way, Theo is the grand nephew of former cricketer Sir Clyde Walcott, but didn’t display any of this pedigree. Surely the genes that were passed on were for a different ball game.
