In the aftermath of India’s defeat to Sri Lanka in the world T20 final, reports have surfaced that Yuvraj Singh’s house in the Manimajra locality of Chandigarh was pelted with stones on Sunday night.
India were comprehensively beaten by Sri Lanka by six wickets in the World T20 final at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Bangladesh. After being put into bat, India managed to post just 130 on the board.
Yuvraj Singh struggled throughout his innings, making a painstaking 11 off 21 balls. His innings sucked all the momentum out of the Indian innings, and Virat Kohli, who was going great guns at the other end, was trapped on the non strikers end for much of the tail end of the Indian innings, which was largely why India were only able to score 130 at the end of their innings.
Reports emerged that unidentified youths in three different cars created havoc outside Yuvraj’s house and security was immediately beefed up outside the cricketer’s house following the incident.
This is not the first time that irate fans have targeted cricketer’s homes, last year, MS Dhoni’s house was targeted following his decision to field first in an ODI against Australia in Ranchi.
Yuvraj looked nowhere near his best and was all at sea. People on social media went berserk after the match criticizing Yuvraj for the defeat. The hashtag #MiracleboyYuvi started trending in the hours after the defeat, featuring tweets such as this:
