First it was how MS Dhoni ‘politics’ got his son Yuvraj Singh ousted from the Indian team for the recently concluded World Cup. Then it was the threat to reveal all the injustices against him — and now, even after the World Cup is over and Yuvraj embarks on an IPL season worth Rs 16 crore to him personally — Yograj Singh continues to talk. However, this time he has let his emotions run amok.
Yograj Singh, who has been in and out of the news due to his comments after Yuvraj was left out of the World Cup squad, has compared Dhoni to ‘Ravana’ and credited his success to media hype. He also called the India skipper a ’nothing’, ‘arrogant’ and the most ’terrible’ person he has ever met. To top it all, he predicted that there will be a day when Dhoni will ‘beg’ and be ‘penniless’.
A report on cricketnext says that Yograj spoke to a Hindi news channel about Dhoni and said:
“There was a time when he had nothing but today he sits in front of media and rips off the media persons. He laughs at media who has given him so much hype. He laughs at the Indian people who clap when he scores a run.”
He adds that if he was a media person, he would have slapped Dhoni.
Yuvraj, along with Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan, failed to make the cut for the 2015 World Cup — in which India were knocked out by Australia in the semifinals.
The most stinging comment from Yograj was when he compared Dhoni to mythological villain Ravana: “Dhoni is arrogant. The way Ravana’s pride came to an end, Dhoni will also suffer some day. He considers himself much above Ravana.”
Yograj also questioned Dhoni’s decisions regarding his batting position and cursed him, saying that there will be a day when Dhoni will be left to beg and become penniless.
