New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham, part of the team touring India, compared Indian roads to US presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday.

The all-rounder tweeted “If Kanpur roads were a person they’d be Donald Trump” after New Zealand’s loss to India at the Green Park Stadium.

While India doesn’t boast the best infrastructure in the world, Neesham’s tweet seems to be a dig at how poor the roads are known to be, especially in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Neesham was ruled out of the opening Test due to a rib injury that he suffered during the warm-up match against Mumbai. He is set to return for the second Test in Kolkata.

India registered a massive 197-run victory in their 500th Test, bowling New Zealand out for 236 in the second innings to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Republican candidate Donald Trump was put on the defensive on Monday night by Democrat rival Hillary Clinton, as she accused him of being racist, sexist and a tax dodger during their first matchup of the US Presidential Debate. Trump has been called “unfit” for the post of the US President, due to his “crude generalisations” about nations and religions.

Being compared to Trump could possibly be the highest insult that a person can use, and Neesham’s timely backhanded comment has not gone down well with Indian cricket fans.
