Same place. Same time.

Until then, goodbye and good night!

India remain unbeaten in the tournament and will look to take their momentum into the final tomorrow.

India now try and rest as much before they play the final tomorrow at 5pm IST.

And that’s it from Dhaka.

We will be back tomorrow for the final.

It was a 4th quarter match for India.

They soaked enough of the pressure and then tore apart a wilting Pakistan 4-0.

It is India’s 7th consecutive victory over Pakistan and probably the longest winning streak by an Indian team over Pakistan.

India beat Pakistan 4-0.

Now, they await the winner of the Malaysia vs Korea match.

India are in the final of the Asia Cup.

Seconds left.

Time ticking away.

India now surely playing the Asia Cup Final tomorrow.

Wheels coming off Pakistan.

India have stitched up the 4th quarter.

Soaked all the pressure even though they comitted errors and now they take apart a tiring Pakistan.

Goal!!!!

Sunil to Akashdeep and then a cross to the top of the circle.

Gurjant whacks it in.

India 4-0.

With five mins left, India lead 3-0 and are almost there in the Asia Cup Final.

India shouldn’t concede.

India leading 3-0.

Pakistan have a player outside the pitch with a yellow card.

They are down to ten men.

Slight argument after the 3rd goal between Akashdeep and Pak players.

Pak feeling the frustration of playing well in the 1st 2 quarters but not getting the goals.

GOAL!!!!!

Make that 3-0.

Converted by Lalit Upadhyay.

Goal!!!!

Harmanpreet flick finally beats Pak goalkeeper.

He then runs to the sidelines and keeps his hand over his mouth.

And that’s the 8th PC.

Sumit pushed in from behind.

Above ten mins left in the match.

India lead 1-0.

It’s not the usual high speed game anymore.

India trying to control and move the ball better.

4th quarter has seen less errors from the Indian side.

Goal mouth skirmish.

Pak keeper saves.

He is yet to concede a PC for Pakistan.

Varun PC flick. All along the carpet.

Pak goalkeeper saves.

But it’s the 7th PC for India.

Can they close the match here?

India now playing possession.

Controlling the game now. Pakistan looking tired. They give it their all in the first two quarters.

And it’s the 6th PC for India.

The 4th Quarter starts.

India lead 1-0.

Almost snatched a few goals in the end of the 3rd quarter.

And that’s Varun Kumar again. Gurjant pass and he fails to trap.

And now Lalit Upadhyay misses with the goalkeeper in front. Again can’t control.

And that’s the end of the 3rd Q.

India leading 1-0 with a quarter left.

And Varun Kumar almost had the 2nd. But couldn’t control it.

For some reason the goal has been given to Satbir Singh. Not Gurjant. That’s the official FIH version.

Pak goalkeeper brings off a wonderful save off Harmanpreet’s flick.

Pak wilting a bit after doing all the hard work in the 1st 2 quarters.

India leading 1-0.

And India get their 5th PC in the 3rd quarter.

Good opportunity to kill the match here.

India lead 1-0 after a goal strike by Gurjant Singh.

Came off a move in the midfield and then Satbir slipped past the Pak defence to set it up for Gurjant.

GOAL!!!

India lead.

Satbir to Gurjant Singh, who sticks his stick out and the ball goes into goal.

India 1-0

And the drizzle comes down.

More than 16 wrong passes from the Indians.

Against a tightly laid out opposition, is it difficult for the Indians to create?

That’s the 3rd quarter.

Karkera, what a save from the Indian goalkeeper.

Shakeel Butt playing a brilliant game today for Pakistan.

Ball flying up and Karkera using the glove to lift it over the bar.

The 3rd quarter about to start.

Let’s see what India throws up.

With two quarters left, India will surely keep possession or atleast try.

Pakistan need goals to be able to beat India’s goal difference which is +4. And they have to win the match too.

Pakistan have dominated proceedings so far but have nothing to show for it.

Perplexing play from India.

Even if you don’t need to really score and want to preserve energy for tomorrow’s final with a draw or by keeping Pakistan away, you need to control the play.

India not at all controlling the pace of the game.

Pakistan, a much better team than what they looked in the Pool match.

India need to come up with a better game plan.

And that’s the break.

Two quarters over.

Pak playing better hockey.

India too many errors.

Pakistan had 4 PC’s to India’s 2.

Pak hit the post twice and India the upright.

And almost a goal!!!

Harmanpreet Singh’s flick hits the upright.

Twice Pak hit the post and now India.

Hit into the Pak striking circle.

India appealing for a PC. It goes to the video umpire.

And it’s a PC.

Two strikes.

And India defends with purpose.

Yet again a wrong pass from India.

And it leads to Pak’s 4th PC.

Pakistan falling back furiously.

India still trying to get a move together.

Ramandeep had a shot but the Pak goalkeeper saved.

Almost the middle of the 2nd quarter and India still dont have a shot at goal.

Very few penetrations.

Shakeel Butt having a good match. Single-handedly taking on India in the midfield.

Constant attacks from Pakistan.

India living dangerously.

India is slightly rattled at the moment.

Instead of holding and finding space, they are running blindly into Pak players.

The 2nd Quarter begins.

India need to hold the ball better.

They need to play simple, basic hockey.

Honestly, Pakistan should have been a goal up. They twice hit the post.

Got 3 PC’s to one by India.

But overall controlled the match well and entered at will the Indian half.

India need to put things together.

Pakistan playing with more purpose.

More determination.

They keep the play tight.

India just too many errors.

And that is the end of the 1st quarter.

And Harmanpreet falls over his own stick.

The PC is wasted.

And Ramandeep gets India their 1st PC of the match.

India need to regroup.

They are losing the ball. Unable to trap peoperly.

Giving the initiative away to Pakistan.

Stupid defensive errors.

India are committing school boy errors in the defence.

But Pakistan fail on the 3rd PC.

Pakistan attacking consistently.

Pakistan almost scores!

What a miss!

Chikte beaten but the ball hits the post.

Pak have their 3rd PC.

And that’s the 2nd PC for India.

India giving away easy PC’s to Pakistan.

Jittery Indian defence.

India need to focus. They are missing easy traps.

Too much space given away in the midfield by India.

Pakistan playing to their strength.

They use the high ball and small passes to make their way in.

India still looking for a first strike in the 1st quarter.

That was close for India.

It was a perfect indirect PC. And the ball hit the side post and deflects.

And the PC is denied to Pakistan.

Almost a goal. Hits side post and goes out.

Pak appeal for another PC. It’s the video umpire again.

Close shave for India.

High ball from Pak captain Irfan. Attack is good.

And Pakistan get the 1st PC of the match.

India controlling the game.

But spoiling the momentum with silly errors.

Muhammad Qadir has a good cross sent in. But no Pak forward can trap.

Pace is slow.

At the moment it suits Pakistan.

Slight miss passing from the Indian forwards.

Pakistan playing the high ball.

But India had an opening. Manpreet push too fast.

And that’s not a PC. The ball was struck high onto a Pak defender.

Pakistan straight away to the video umpire.

Pakistan open up the play with an attack.

But it’s a high ball.

And India get their 1st PC at the other end.

AND HERE WE GO.

INDIA VS PAK

4 QUARTERS

60 MINUTES OF SIZZLING ACTION

India and Pakistan are coming out now.

And then we have the National Anthems.

And then the Big Game.

Teams walking off now to the dressing room.

The Super 4 match between India Vs Pak is a minute away.

Here’s the starting XI for India

We are approximately five minutes away from the India Vs Pak match.

Harmanpreet Singh flicking in a few last minute penalty corners.

Pakistan also trying to get their drill together.

Can this match be decided on PC’s?

Expect a tight defensive formation from Pakistan.

They would play tight and look for suprise counters with a high ball on the flank.

India would play their natural game but would expect the team to fall back and defend.

Fitness and speed is with India.

But Pak is dangerous on the counter.

Live action begins shortly. Stay tuned.

Good News!

The drizzle is over.

And we can now look forward to a good game between India Vs Pakistan.

Will be interesting to note how Sjoerd Marijne plays India today.

India have four points from two games. Pakistan have one point from a draw. But India are plus 4 in goal difference while Pakistan has a -1. Pakistan need a win and that too a big one to overhaul India and think of a place in the final.

A draw eliminates them.

But Indian captain Manpreet Singh said: “It would be simple to win and take our place in the final.”

The Indian team are on the pitch as the drizzle gets heavier.

Now the intense warm up begins.

India looking for their 6th consecutive win against Pakistan.

The Pakistan team in a huddle before the match

The Indians not on the pitch yet.

Pakistan meanwhile have been in a huddle for almost five minutes.

They need team work if they are to avoid a 6th straight defeat against India.

And there is a drizzle coming down now.

Not a great sight. But if it remains confined to a drizzle, then the match can be played.

Let’s hope the rains stay away.

The top two teams will qualify for the final, while the teams finishing third and fourth will vie for the bronze medal.

All India need to seal their place in the final is a draw against Pakistan today.

The wind speed is quite a bit tonight. Flags are fluttering away like sails of a yacht caught in a storm.

Shouldn’t have too much of an impact except for the fact that SV Sunil might get an extra thrust!!

The delay was more because the dressing rooms were water logged and also the TV production area.

But, fingers crossed, no more delays and the crucial India vs Pak match will be on shortly.

Both the Indian goalkeepers – Akash Chikte and Suraj Karkera are now warming up.

And so is the Pakistan team.

There’s a 90-minute delay due to persistent rain in Dhaka.

It has been raining quite heavily today in Dhaka and the stadium looks water logged. There could be a delay in proceedings.
