India vs Australia, 1st Test: 'Things are hotting up' say Twitterati after visitors' top-class show

Pune: Left-arm spinner Steve O’Keefe claimed a match haul of 12 wickets for 70 runs to hand Australia a comprehensive 333-run win inside three days and stop India’s juggernaut in the opening Test in Pune on Saturday.

Australia managed to put up 260 in the first innings, which seemed like an average score considering India’s powerful batting performances at home in recent times. However, India stuttered and were bundled out for 105 in reply. In the second innings, Australia survived a few chances to score 285 and have a healthy lead.

Chasing a daunting 441 for victory, India crashed to 107 all out early in the final session as their unbeaten streak of 19 Test matches came to a jarring end.

O’Keefe, who took a career-best haul of 6-35 in the first innings, returned similar figures in his second outing as well, as Australia took a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. As Virat and Co fell to one of their worst Test defeat, there was complete pandemonium on Twitter as this collection of tweets would show:
