The political tussle between Puducherry Lieutenant-Governor Kiran Bedi and the Congress government reached a new level when Bedi on Thursday tweeted the image of a poster in which she had been portrayed as Adolf Hitler.

According to News18 , Bedi alleged that the local Congress unit was behind the poster as part of its “condemnation agitation against the central government and the Lt-Governor” for the process of nominating MLAs.

The image in the poster showed Hitler’s trademark toothbrush moustache superimposed on Bedi’s face.

Bedi tweeted the poster with an emoticon of folded hands.

The Puducherry L-G also tweeted some other posters clearly aimed against her, one of which showed a cartoon “which showed the Lt Gov being chased away”.

Yet another poster was tweeted by Bedi, in which she was portrayed as the Hindu Goddess Kali holding the decapitated head of some politicians, including that of Chief Minister V Narayanasamy.

Bedi on Thursday asked why Narayanasamy did not make any recommendations for nominating MLAs to the Union Territory Assembly.

“Did the chief minister for a whole one year make any recommendations? He did not,” she had told reporters at Chennai airport.

Defending nomination of three legislators, which intensified the spat between her and Narayanasamy, Bedi had said she did not receive any names for nominating them as MLAs from the chief minister.

She had said the “central government exercised its power to nominate upto three MLAs”.
