New Delhi: Goa BJP chief Vinay Dinu Tendulkar will be the party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat from the state, it was announced on Monday.
The lone Rajya Sabha seat from Goa falls vacant as the tenure of Shantaram Naik of the Congress will soon be over.
The election is due on 21 July.

Though the Congress is the single largest party in the state, Tendulkar is likely to emerge victorious in the case of a contest as the BJP enjoys the support of smaller parties and independents.
It is also in power in the state.
