The BJP has finally managed to pacify its disgruntled partner in Andhra Pradesh—Telugu Desam Party—after the national outfit agreed to cede some Assembly seats for the regional party in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
“Naidu had publicly faulted the BJP for selecting weak candidates for the state election - by association, he says, voters will reject his party’s candidates for parliament as well,” a NDTV report said .
According to the same report , TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is unhappy with the BJP for giving a ticket to his sister-in-law and former Union minister Purandeswari in the Lok Sabha polls. Purandeswari recently switched over to the BJP from the Congress following the creation of Telangana and does not share a smooth relation with the TDP boss.
After weathering the storm, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar announced that the alliance with the TDP is on. Andhra Pradesh is holding the Assembly and Loki Sabha polls together.
