The project, which is just a day old has already garnered a great response as those who fell in love in Mumbai are busy marking the exact spot on Google maps. There are also two more maps where Bangalore and Delhi people can pin. However, these days, with several relationships that begin and end even before we can blink, these spots also mark the memory of a happy time in relationships that didn’t work out. If you see the Mumbai map, Yadav herself has marked her name more than once.

Yadav says that she got the inspiration of this project from Becky Cooper’s Mapping Manhattan project . The photographer says, " The idea of doing this project is to make people think back to a place and see how they associate memories to places."

“It is like mapping memories,” says Yadav. “You can say, it is like studying people’s emotions. To sort of tie feelings, which are intangible things to tangible places of a city.”  Yadav, who also spear headed the Indian Memory Project, India’s first online visual and narrative based archive, says her pinning project is unique in the sense that it brings together human feelings and physical space with the help of technology.

Yadav’s claim to fame is her online archive Indian Memory Project. A renowned photographer who has captured Bollywood celebrities through her lens, she mostly enjoys capturing the narratives of cities through photographs and letters. To learn more about her and her unique projects, click here .
