The Humboldt Penguin exhibit on at Mumbai’s Byculla zoo attracted a large crowd on its opening weekend last Friday. The zoo authorities were largely unprepared for the massive footfall of 25,000 people. There was no announcement system in place, children went missing, and there was a near stampede. This coming weekend, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation — under whose purview the Byculla Zoo falls — is rectifying that.
