Katju recently came to limelight recently after he revealed how an allegedly corrupt judge got elevated at the Madras High Court in 2005.

The former Supreme Court judge “had claimed that a District Judge in Tamil Nadu was elevated to an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court despite charges of corruption against him”.

Many had seen the timing of the revelations as an attempt to get cosy with the Modi government.

However, the former SC judge had given a different reason for the revelation during a panel discussion on CNN-IBN before.

“I had mentioned this issue on my Facebook page when some Tamilians about three weeks back had asked me to put my experience as a judge in the Madras High Court. I recalled the whole thing and wrote about it,” he said.
