A 45-year-old woman was killed on Saturday in firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, police said. The victim has been identified as Ruqia Bi.

According to defence ministry sources, the Pakistani troops resorted to heavy unprovoked firing at about 5 am. “The Indian positions are effectively retaliating. Firing exchanges are continuing,” the sources told IANS.
This comes just hours after a security personnel was injured when militants attacked an army camp in Kupwara district of Kashmir. After the attack, the army launched a massive manhunt with the help of paramilitary commandos, India Today reported.
This comes just a day after former Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa was reportedly cornered by armed forces in Tral district of Kashmir.
