A fresh incursion by the Chinese has been reported in the Demchok area of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir.
It was reported that Chinese herdsmen had pitched tents in the Demchok area of Ladakh. They however reportedly withdrew after talks were held between the two sides.
According to a report on NDTV, the incident took place on July 22 at the Charding Nilu Nullah Junction in the Demchok sector along the Line of Actual Control.
A flag meeting between the commanders from both sides was eventually held. The Chinese reportedly agreed to move back the herdsmen a day later.
Demchok is one of the two areas of Ladakh where Chinese troops had made attempted incursion attempts in rceent weeks.
In fact, even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese president Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit earlier this month, personnel of the People’s Liberation Army were crossing the LAC in Demchok, leading to a face-off with the Indian Army.
