New Delhi: Delhi Metro gave a hard time to commuters for the second consecutive day with technical glitches crippling the Red Line for nearly two hours on Saturday.

Train services on the corridor, which connects west Delhi’s Rithala to east Delhi’s Dilshad Garden, were hit around 12.15 pm due to an OHE (overhead wire) snag between

Kashmere Gate and Shastri Park stations.

Repair work was completed around 1.10 pm but by that time trains had gradually halted across the 24-km-long corridor, with the down line going towards Rithala being the most affected.

A commuter, who was travelling from Jhilmil station to Kashmere Gate, said after being stranded for over one hour, she was forced to take a cab.

“There were no announcements apart from the generic one apologising for the delay. The authorities should update properly and let the passengers plan accordingly. There is no point in keeping commuters in the dark,” she said.

ON Friday, technical glitches had hit the metro hard, that too twice during the day, piling on the woes of people battling waterlogging and the consequent traffic congestion across the city.

The affected corridors were Blue Line and Violet Line.
