Seems like the troubles for Congress are not likely to end anytime soon. Minutes after Shanersinh Vaghela, Congress’ most senior leader in Gujarat, lashed out at party leadership in a public event, claiming how he was expelled from the party, Ambika Soni, party’s general secretary reportedly tendered her resignation as in-charge of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh due to health reasons.
Speaking with ANI, Soni said:

Sushil Kumar Shinde will take over the charge of Himachal Pradesh even as she continues to stay the Member of Parliament (MP) for Congress, News X reported.
Soni is a senior member of Congress and has also served also the Union minister of information and broadcasting minister in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA-2 government.
The resignation, however, is yet to be accepted by the Congress party, Republic reported.
Meanwhile, veteran Congress leader Vaghela, is reported to have quit the party as well. Interestingly, Vaghela, who has also been the chief minister of Gujarat, claimed on Friday that he was “expelled from the Congress” 24 hours ago, while addressing a public rally organised for his 77th birthday in Gandhinagar. The rally has been billed as a show of strength from Vaghela.

Vaghela who had left BJP to join Congress two decades, also fuelled speculations on Friday that he may return to the BJP. “I will not retire from politics,” The Times of India quoted him as saying.
