The third edition of Nariyal Paani, which is known as the ‘Festival by the Sea’, is a mashup of Indian and international independent artists performing live original music.

The festival by the sea continues its commitment to environmental conservation, maintaining a strict no-plastic policy and ensuring that all stall vendors, festival volunteers and music enthusiasts adhere to it. In fact, free water stations will be provided at various sections of the venue to prevent fest goers from using plastic bottles. The festival décor is in keeping with its eco-friendly ethos and boasts of only biodegradable materials.

Another attraction of the festival is its White Collar Hippie’s campsite that aims to foster a sense of community amongst the festival goers and music enthusiasts of different genres.

Programmed to ensure maximum revelry, the genres of music on show at the festival range from folk, jazz and reggae to electro-pop, hip-hop and beat boxing. The line-up this year includes artistes like percussionist Anand Bhagat, four-time beat boxing champion Bellatrix, the genre-defying experimental electronica producer and composer Donn Bhat, indie-folk rock singer and songwriter Jordan Johnson and vocalist-cum-composer Suman Sridhar, among others.

The food scene at the festival is also an attraction. The organisers, instead of making room for giant food chains, will involve local vendors who “would rather eat their own feet than serve mushy cold pizzas and flat beer”. The handpicked vendors, apart from providing great food and craft beer, follow Nariyal Paani’s guiding principle of engaging organic, sustainable and eco-friendly wares.
