Chandigarh, Sep 15 (IANS) A Pakistani cricket team, which has come here to participate in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament, was Sunday asked to leave a five-star hotel in Chandigarh and shift to Mohali town in adjoining Punjab.

Nearly 20 players of Faisalabad Wolves team were asked to move from the JW Marriot hotel, where they had checked in, to move to Mohali.

Police sources here said that this was done as the Faisalabad team was issued visas by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad for Mohali only.

The team is led by Pakistan test side captain Misbah-ul-Haq.

Team coach Naveed Anjum said there were some visa issues which were being worked out.

The team is scheduled to play its matches at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium in Mohali.

PCA officials said the players have now been accommodated in rooms at the clubhouse of the PCA stadium complex.

“The PCA has accommodated them in the clubhouse today. The BCCI is in touch with the ministry of external affairs and the home ministry to facilitate their visa for Chandigarh also. We hope that it will be done by tomorrow. They will be shifted back to the Chandigarh hotel,” PCA joint secretary G.S. Walia told media here.
