Tulsi Kumar, Raftaar out with new song: Mera Highway Star featuring Khushali Kumar

The video of the latest song by ‘Dil ke Paas’ singer Tulsi Kumar, called ‘Mera Highway Star’, features her sibling Khushali Kumar and includes rap by Raftaar.

The song, which opens with a shot of two women washing cars in a garage, has a raw look. The women have goth tattoos and accessories. There also shots of a car chase, where the male protagonist of the song is being followed by two police vehicles. The song has fast-paced beats and Hindi, English and Punjabi lyrics.

In the song, a lady mechanic, played by Khushali Kumar, describes the experience of being driven around in a car by a man she calls her ‘highway star’, played by Raftaar.

Tulsi Kumar, who began her singing career with the Chup Chup Ke song ‘Shabe Firaaq’ is the daughter of Gulshan Kumar. She has sung songs for movies such as Aashiqui 2, Airlift and Sarbjit.

Her sister Khushali made her debut in 2015 in a song sung by Tulsi herself, called ‘Mainu Ishq Da Lagya Rog’. Raftaar was last heard in a Kaabil song called ‘Haseeno Ka Deewana’, and of his own music, he released ‘Chandigarh Rehn Waaliye’ and ‘Saroor’ in 2016.
