The first look of Ajay Devgn starrer historical drama, Taanaji – The Unsung Warrior has been revealed. The film is based on Tanaaji Malusare, a military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, founder of the Maratha Empire, as per bollywoodlife.com . Devgn plays the titular role in the film and Om Raut is the director. The actor took to twitter to reveal the poster. Here’s his tweet:

By the looks of the poster, it is safe to assume that the film will feature a lot of military action. The poster itself shows Devgn in a Maratha warrior’s avatar engaged in combat. Since warfare is pivotal to the story of the film, one can expect generous usage of VFX. Taanaji will release in 2019.
Historical dramas have taken Bollywood by storm, lately, with audiences opening up to learning about Indian history and culture from Bollywood. Historical films also come under the scanner frequently, because the subject requires them to project the characters fairly. Films like Bajirao Mastani, Jodhaa Akbar have done really well in the past, despite having their tryst with controversies.
Apart from Taanaji, Devgn will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again alognside Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Kunal Khemu.
