The first Sarkar film was centered on gangster Subhash Nagre, and drew inspiration from the cult film The Godfather. The second film Sarkar Raj saw the actors from the first film, Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek, reprise their roles, and in the third installment, the original plot was further explored.
Now, the writer of Sarkar 3, Ramkumar Singh, will be creating a film script based on the life of Anandpal, a gangster who operated out of Nagaur, Rajasthan. Anandpal was recently killed in a police encounter.
Singh wrote on Facebook that he will be penning this biopic. He described Anandpal’s life story as being the perfect plot because it involves mystery, love and intrigue.
Since he hails from Shekhawati, Rajasthan, which is close to Haryana, Singh said that he knows about the illicit liquor business, as reported by DNA. He said that the psyche of people regarding the illegal liquor trade and havala is different in this region.
Speaking about the script to DNA, he said, “I will have to do a lot of research and I am sure to get help from local people for detailing and characterisation. After my announcement I got a lot of calls from people who are willing to provide information about Anandpal and his life, said an excited Singh. But then a biopic comes with its own share of troubles, a permission from the family would be needed. I am in talks with producers and we will have to handle the political connections and patronage angle carefully.”
Ramkumar Singh has previously worked on films such as Anarkali of Arah and Bhobhar, a Bhojpuri movie.
