Aamir Khan's 19-year old daughter Ira has musical aspirations; will assist Ram Sampath

It looks like Aamir Khan’s children from his first marriage, 21-year old Junaid and 19-year old Ira, do not want to follow in their father’s footsteps. However, they do want to be associated with the Hindi film industry.

Pinkvilla reports that Junaid has assisted filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani in his 2014 science fiction satire PK. But his younger sister, Ira, does not have film making aspirations. She, in fact, has been inclined towards music since childhood.

Now, DNA reports that she will assist music composer Ram Sampath in the future. Sampath is on a roll after his recent successful album in Rahul Dholakia’s crime drama Raees, that released last month. Sampath has also composed for two films of Khan — his home prouction, Abhinay Deo’s 2011 comedy Delhi Belly and Reema Kagti’s 2012 suspense thriller Talaash.

Sampath’s wife and singer Sona Mohapatra has lent her voice to those films as well. The couple has also collaborated with Khan on his television show Satyamev Jayate.

The same report suggests that Ira is fascinated by Sampath’s work, particularly her father’s songs from Talaash and ‘Ambarsariya’ from Mrigdeep Singh Lamba’s 2013 comedy Fukrey.

Though the actor separated from his former wife Reena Dutta back in 2002, Aamir and she, along with Junaid and Ira, continue to be a close unit.

Pinkvilla reports that while Khan is quite open to his children entering the realm of films, he wants them to make mistakes and learn it the hard way, rather than giving the impression that they were born with a silver spoon. During the promotions of his last film, Nitesh Tiwari’s 2016 wrestling biopic Dangal, he was quoted as saying, “Of course I will help them. If I feel they have the talent and are deserving I will surely help them. If not deserving then I will tell them they don’t deserve (a chance).”
