Amazon has made 18 job offers at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), in the placement season this year, emerging as the top recruiter at the premier management institute, according to media reports.
The other companies that offered jobs included, McKinsey & Co (15), Goldman Sachs (nine), Hindustan Unilever (seven), Procter & Gamble, SC Johnson and Samsung (six each), said reports in Business Standard and The Hindu BusinessLine .
As many as 100 companies participated in the final round of placements, of which 40 were new ones.
Apart from McKinsey, other recruiters from consulting spaced included Accenture Strategy, AT Kearney, Bain & Co, Oliver Wyman and The Boston Consulting Group. Sector-wise, consulting companies recruited the most, said the report in The Hindu BusinessLine.
In the general management space, TAS (Tata Administrative Service) topped with 10 job offers. Consumer technology company Sprinklr made nine offers.
How India Lives, a website that provides public data, feels that the recruitment numbers show even when companies are hit by adverse economic conditions, recruitment at the IIM-A remains largely unaffected.
