A week after Jet Airways and Air India decided to slash airfares in a bid to take on new competitor Vistara, low-cost carrier GoAir too has launched a promotional scheme, offering fares as low as Rs 1,468.
The offer is open till January 20, 2015 for travel till April 15, 2015.
The January-March quarter is traditionally seen as a lean quarter for airlines in India.
Air India rolled out hefty discounts on short-term advance bookings on 12 January, three days after rival full-service carrier Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, commenced operations. The Naresh Goyal-led Jet Airways followed suit by slashing fares beginning 13 January.
Jet has also announced that the airline too will not charge any fee for cancellation and date change requests within 24 hours from passengers who book their tickets through the airline’s website.
