Life has many stages, and each stage provides us with a fresh experience. A caregiver, a teacher, a supporter, a confidante, a friend, whatever it is that we need, our mothers adopt various roles to help us through everything. Often as children, we take for granted the extra sweet she slips into our lunch bags as special treats. As teenagers, we overlook the trouble she goes through to ensure she is both a friend and a mentor to give us direction. As adults, we drown ourselves into our own worries that we barely realise that no matter how old we are, she still worries every minute of the day for us. A mother is not just a single role, it is a collection of selfless roles wrapped in unflinching love which we barely give her enough credit for.

This Mother’s Day, don’t just thank your mother for everything that she has done for you. Show her you love her. Do something special for her.
