The seventh season of Splitsvilla has now reached a stage where you cannot watch the show for five minutes at a stretch without wondering from which planet its contestants hail. With the boys leading from the front in this fest of inanity, yet another episode of the show came to an end.
The first half of the show had the host Nikhil Chinapa exhorting the boys to prove their mettle by exercising - doing push-ups, squats and then skipping. The only spectacular thing in the entire section was how Sunny Leone… wait for it… actually skipped for a full minute in stilettos as the boys, and the audience, gawked.
Abhishekh, who in his head is the most beautiful male to have walked the earth, struggled with a skipping rope the way Leone generally struggles with Hindi. Finally, in two minutes, he managed to skip the rope successfully just twice. However, the hosts introduced a new twist in the tale. They said the boys would be voted on the basis of who stinks the most - literally. This means they were made to stand with their arms raised and the women had to smell them.
Yes, you are allowed to feel a little sad for these women.
However, since there is a gang war going on in the villa, the girls from gang one voted out Mayank Gandhi who belonged to the rival gang. It was, however, not established who stinks the most.
Next up was a dance competition, opened by Leone. In blue sequinned hot pants and a flowing top, Leone tried to be twinkle toes. You can applaud her efforts but as far as dancing goes, this Sunny is only as good as Sunny Deol was with choreography.
Next came Mayank Pawar - also known as the human parallel for the Elephanta caves - who pouted, showed off his abs and shook is booty. At times, you could almost see him struggling not to pet his own abdomen, so fond is he of his own physique. Beauty king Abhiskeh showed us he can dance better than the rest in the fray. Physical trainer Yasir, again, was a stark reminder of Sunil Shetty on his bad dance days. Finally, there was Ayaz, who, by the way, is getting more annoying with every episode. Oh, and he can’t dance either.
According to the complicated gang calculations, Ayaz and Yasir ended up in the dumping zone with Mayank Gandhi, making the next episode slightly more interesting a watch. Or so we hope. At the very least, we pray that it will stink less.
