Five senior Trinidad & Tobago players, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Ravi Rampaul and Kevin Cooper, have withdrawn from the team's squad for the regional first-class tournament that resumes on Friday, according to a report in Stabroek News.
Four rounds of the revamped first-class tournament, the Professional Cricket League (PCL), were played in November and December, before a two-month break. Now, Bravo, who quit Test cricket on January 31, has told the T&T management that he is not available for the first-class format. Sunil Narine, who withdrew from West Indies' World Cup squad to work on his bowling action, will continue working on it. Seamer Cooper also has asked for time off to work on his action. Rampaul and Pollard, meanwhile, are recovering from injury.
T&T are currently placed fifth in the PCL points table, just one off bottom, with one win and two losses in four games. They play Windward Islands in Gros Islet from Friday.
