Offspinner Nathan Lyon and left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe took four wickets each to bundle Victoria out for 169, giving New South Wales a 156-run win. O'Keefe's 4 for 40 in the second innings took his match tally to 8 for 86, his best in this Shield season, while Lyon finished with 7 for 101.
Set a target of 326, Victoria suffered early setbacks when Lyon removed the top three batsmen to leave the side at 3 for 37. Peter Handscomb and Cameron White resisted with a 60-run partnership for the fourth wicket before pacer Gurinder Sandhu had White caught behind for 23.
Victoria could add only 72 runs for the final six wickets and Handscomb's 66 was the highest score by any Victoria batsman in the game. Fawad Ahmed - the tournament's second-highest wicket-taker - managed only four wickets in the match, while O'Keefe joined the list of bowlers to notch up 20 or more wickets in this season.
